One day, while on a walk in the neighborhood, my wife and I came across an old man named Umeda. He was a friendly and kind soul, but there was something about him that made my wife uncomfortable. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but there was just something about him that she didn’t like.
“I don’t like him,” she said, shaking her head.
I tried to reassure her, but she was firm in her conviction. “He’s just a little bit too dirty,” she explained.
It wasn’t until much later that I learned the truth about Umeda. It turns out that he had been living on the streets for years, and he had never taken a bath. He was a true germophobe, and he hated the thought of being near anyone who was dirty or unkempt.
As time went on, I began to notice that my wife was becoming more and more obsessed with cleanliness. She was always scrubbing and sanitizing, and she became increasingly difficult to live with. She even started to complain about me, saying that I was too dirty and unkempt.
One day, I came home from work and found my wife in bed with a homeless man. She was laughing and giggling, and the man was grinning from ear to ear.
“What the hell is going on?” I demanded, my eyes wide with shock and disbelief.
“This is my new lover,” my wife said, her voice drifting off into the distance. “He’s the cleanest person I’ve ever met. He’s always taking showers and wearing clean clothes.”
I was stunned. My wife was addicted to this man, and she was willing to do whatever it took to be with him. I knew I had to get her help, and I did everything in my power to get her the help she needed.
