It was a cold winter night, and Kiyomi Minagawa, a new teacher, was working late at the school. As she made her way through the corridors, she heard a commotion coming from one of the classrooms. She rushed to the room, only to find Ikushima, a janitor, attacking a student who had been bullying him.
Kiyomi rushed to the student’s aid, and together they managed to subdue Ikushima. As they did, Ikushima reached for his face, and Kiyomi noticed that he was bleeding from his nose. She grabbed a handkerchief from her pocket and handed it to Ikushima, asking him to use it to stop the bleeding.
As Ikushima tied the handkerchief around his nose, Kiyomi noticed that he was holding it tightly to his chest. She had never seen anyone do that before, but she couldn’t help but be drawn to the way he held it.
