It was a beautiful summer day and I had just arrived in the small town where my sister was getting married. I had always been close to her, but now that she was about to take a huge step in her life, I felt like I was losing her. I had no idea how I was going to handle seeing her get married to the man she had been in love with for the past year.
As I walked into the hotel where my family was staying, I could see the happiness on everyone’s faces. But there was an ache in my heart that I couldn’t shake. I had always known that my sister and her fiance were meant to be together, but I couldn’t help feeling like I was losing a piece of myself.
The next three days were a blur of emotion. I saw my sister and her fiance laughing and playing together, and I could tell that they were in love. But I couldn’t help feeling like an outsider. I wanted to be able to share in their happiness, but I felt like I was just watching from the sidelines.
