Touka had been staking out a suspect for weeks, but the heat of the summer and the lack of sleep were beginning to take their toll. She had always been a single-minded investigator, but the heat and the days of abstinence were starting to cloud her judgment. She longed for something, anything, to break the monotony of the case.
It was on one of these long, hot days that she ran into a junior investigator, Jun. Touka was immediately drawn to Jun’s bright eyes and quick wit. They began to talk, and before she knew it, they were sharing a drink and a laugh. Before she knew it, Jun had slipped his arm around Touka’s shoulders, and they were walking hand in hand down the streets of the city.
When they walked, Touka felt a spark within her that she hadn’t felt in a long time. She wanted Jun with every fiber of her being, and she knew that he felt the same way about her. They decided to take a break from the case and head back to Touka’s apartment, where they could be alone.
