JUL-078 (English Subtitle) Alone With Son’s Wife At Rainy Night

Half a year after losing my wife, I was still struggling to move on. It was tough living without her and most days I felt like giving up. However, my son and his wife had planned a birthday party for me in the hopes of encouraging me to live life again. I wasn’t sure if I was ready for a celebration, but I couldn’t say no to my son’s earnest request.

My son’s daughter-in-law, Saori-san, was a kind and gentle soul. She reminded me so much of my late wife and just meeting her eyes filled me with a sense of warmth and comfort. I was grateful for her presence in my son’s life and in turn, mine. Unfortunately, fate had other plans for us that day. A large typhoon was approaching and my son had to cancel the party. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of disappointment and loneliness wash over me once again.
