Tomomi’s husband, Atsushi, was a violent man who had a history of abusing his wife and children. After he attempted to kill his wife, Tomomi, by driving her car off the road, he was sentenced to prison.
During his time in prison, Hotta, a former driver of Atsushi, attempted to reach out to Tomomi and apologize for his part in the incident. However, when Hotta turned back to her, Atsushi became enraged and violently attacked him.
When Hotta was released from prison, he went to Tomomi’s apartment to apologize for his role in the incident. Tomomi was reluctant to see him, but she knew that Hotta had served his time and that he was no longer a threat. She let him in, and the two of them sat down to talk.
