As I stepped out of the train station and started walking towards my apartment, I could feel the stress and tension in my body. It had been a long day at work and my wife’s argument with her lover had left me feeling drained. I had hoped to come home to a peaceful and calm atmosphere, but I knew that was not going to be the case.
As I approached my apartment building, I could see the light from my wife’s apartment shining through the windows. I knew she was home, and I knew she was waiting for me. I took a deep breath and pushed the door open, determined to face her and the situation head-on.
As I walked into the apartment, I could see my wife sitting on the couch, her head in her hands. She looked up at me and smiled, but it was a sad and pained smile. I walked over to her and sat down beside her, trying to put my arm around her shoulders, but she pushed me away.
