It was supposed to be a routine job, but fate had different plans for us today. My name is Jack, and I am a construction worker. Alongside my boss, Sarah, we set out early in the morning to complete our latest project. Everything seemed normal until the sky turned gray, and the first drops of rain started falling heavily. Our progress came to a halt as we realized that driving through such intense rainfall wouldn’t be possible. We were stuck at the job site, waiting for the weather to clear up.
Sarah suggested that we wait till morning, but our phones didn’t have any reception, and we were miles away from civilization. Panic crept over both of us as the rain kept pouring relentlessly. It wasn’t long before Sarah’s eyes widened, realizing that her truck tires were sinking deep into the muddy terrain. We were trapped without any means of escape.
We spent hours inside the cramped space of the vehicle, listening to the deafening sounds of thunder and lightning outside. I couldn’t shake off the sense of anticipation building inside of me. Every time Sarah moved, her hair clung onto her face, drenched in water.
